Your browser. Your choices.

This notice describes PureWeave’s local-analysis Chrome extension and this website. The Chrome release is being prepared; a public installation link is not available yet.

What the extension reads

PureWeave reads bounded product information to explain clothing materials in the sidebar. This can include the current page URL, title, retailer, product identifiers, selected colour or size, material declarations, relevant product wording and structured product data. It uses that information to associate a report with the product you are viewing.

Clicking the toolbar icon grants temporary access to the current page for a manual check. If you choose automatic checks, a small detector examines page metadata and product signals on eligible HTTPS pages. A full material check runs only when those signals indicate a likely product page. Obvious account, cart, checkout and other sensitive routes are excluded; recognition is not perfect.

What stays on your device

Analysis runs in your browser. This release does not upload product reports, URLs, material wording or preferences to PureWeave, an AI provider or an analytics service. It has no PureWeave account, advertising tracker, referral injection or affiliate activation.

Reports are kept temporarily in worker memory, with up to 20 tab contexts and a 30-minute expiry. Reports need a fresh check after the worker restarts. Session storage holds bounded request, permission and status metadata, including the authorized website origin; it does not save a product-report history.

Local settings include your material preferences, automatic-check choice, paused state, excluded website hostnames and display theme. These settings remain in the browser until you change or remove them.

Requests to shopping websites

The reader can request bounded product resources from the same HTTPS shopping website to find material details. These requests go to the retailer, not to a PureWeave analysis server, and may use the browser’s existing session with that retailer. The retailer’s own privacy practices still apply. PureWeave is not an offline tool.

The extension does not sell, share or use product-page information for advertising. Opening an external reference link is your choice and takes you to that website.

Your controls and deletion

  • Choose Not now to keep manual mode. The extension does not repeatedly open the permission prompt.
  • Pause automatic checks stops automatic detection without removing the permission.
  • Exclude this website turns off automatic checks on that hostname.
  • Revoke automatic access removes the optional website grant. Manual toolbar checks remain available on eligible pages.
  • Clear local data removes reports, material and automatic settings, saved exclusions and any legacy sample or beta settings, and revokes optional access. A random, content-free session marker remains to reject late permission responses. The extension’s display-theme choice can be removed through Chrome’s extension storage controls.

You can also remove PureWeave through Chrome’s Extensions menu.

This website

The landing website does not receive your extension reports. It uses a light appearance and does not save theme choices or demonstration preferences. It does not use local storage, advertising or analytics scripts.

If you used an earlier version of the website, a saved theme setting may remain in your browser. This website no longer reads it. You can remove that old setting by clearing this website’s site data in Chrome; the extension’s separate theme setting is unaffected.

The hosting infrastructure receives ordinary connection information, such as an IP address, requested path and browser headers, to deliver and protect the website. Infrastructure logging and retention are controlled by the hosting providers. This is separate from the extension’s local analysis.

Limited Use and contact

PureWeave’s use of information obtained through Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy’s Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide the material-checking features described here.

The public support contact is being set up and will be published before the extension is released. Current guidance is on the help page. Any change to this data handling will be described here with an updated date.
